The "noteworthy feature" is determined from the maximum deviation of a key performance indicator value from an average in a given iteration step. The chart on the right in Fig 8 shows the average process runtime for several facilities. Evidently, all values are fairly similar, the "noteworthy feature" or deviation width is correspondingly low at 4%. One may therefore draw the conclusion that different facilities have little or no effect on the key performance indicator - the dimension "Plant" is therefore not a noteworthy feature.

Figures 12 and 13 show what an organization-centered navigation may look like when it is based on dynamic relationship networks rather than static organizational charts. For example, the user can see what relationships the "Sales" organizational unit has with other units, whereby the nature of the relationship may be one of cooperation, delegation, information etc. The processes in which this organizational unit participates and the subsections for which it is responsible are also clearly revealed.

In order to provide a full description of the KPIs, the point in the process sequence where the necessary data is collected must be defined. These points in the process define the measurement points and are used later in the specification of the interfaces required. Measurement points can return any amount of data simply by receiving or reading the data in question from the IT system that is involved in the execution of the function. Thus, measurement points return not only the specification for the systems from which the data is drawn, but also the time information regarding when the data relating to the process sequence is collected.
